Applications of ContiScan in Cardiology include: The detection of transient left ventricular wall motion abnormalities indicative of coronary artery disease, in patients who present to the ER. ContiScan would permit rapid diagnosis, triage, and prompt initiation of treatment. The measurement of cardiac output (CO) and pulmonary artery diastolic pressure (PADP) in patients with heart failure. Serial measurements of these parameters will help to titrate the doses of medications. Monitoring of a variety of procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and the operating room: • Catheter balloon valvuloplasty • Cannulation of the coronary sinus for biventricular pacing and optimization of placement of lead position for CRT • Monitoring of pericardiocentesis Exercise echocardiography Perioperative use by anesthesiology Emergency medicine |
