The ContiScan® system incorporates a unique ultrasound transducer which can be used for unattended continuous imaging of the heart. Currently available transthoracic ultrasound transducers are hand-held devices that permit viewing cardiac structures and measuring Doppler flow velocity signals at a fixed point in time. Changes in a patient’s clinical status may warrant multiple echocardiograms. Performing serial echocardiograms within a short period of time using a handheld transducer is inconvenient, expensive and impractical. CAUTION - The ContiScan® system is an investigational device, limited by U.S. law to investigational use. The Contiscan® System is not available for sale within the United States or internationally. |
