Jerry Smith, Ph.D.

Vice President of Engineering

Jerry Smith is responsible for the development of Stellartech’s electronic medical devices. Jerry has over 20 years of experience leading the development of electronic instruments, including RF surgical generators for cardiac ablation, prostate ablation, tumor ablation, fallopian tube occlusion, and endometrial ablation; ultrasound equipment, and multichannel electrocardiogram measurement equipment. As the project manager for these developments, Jerry has led the specification, system modeling, and hardware architecture of these projects; closely supervised their electrical design, software development and mechanical / industrial design; coordinated the formal verification activities and transfer to manufacturing; and secured the necessary safety certifications and approvals from agencies such as UL, ETL, TUV, and FDA.

Prior to joining Stellartech in 1993, Jerry was Director of Engineering for Medasonics, a diagnostic ultrasound manufacturer, served as Director of Applications at Zoran, a high performance signal processing integrated circuit manufacturer, and was the founder of Adisa Corporation, a manufacturer of voice synthesis development tool equipment.

Jerry holds a PhD from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering, and an MS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Physics from the University of Missouri, Rolla.
